A total of 14 VJW players from three age divisions - 1997, 1996 and 1995 - were selected to compete at this year's 2012 USA Hockey National Development Camp, which was designed as a way for USA Hockey to identify the best players in the country.
In fact, the VJW presence at camp was so dominating that eight of the only 17 players selected for the Boys' 1997 Camp were VJW players.

Former VJW player Chris Kreider continues his record-breaking performance during the 2012 NHL Playoffs. Kreider, who played for the Warriors from mites through bantams, has scored four goals and has tied an NHL record for most playoff goals scored in a single postseason by a player who has not yet skated in a regular-season game!
Kreider, the 19th-overall selection in the 2009 draft and just weeks
removed from leading the Boston College Eagles to an NCAA title, has
been able to join the New York Rangers and lead them to the Eastern Conference finals against the New Jersey Devils.

Current and future members of the VJW Junior A and B squad took part in the 2012 Eastern Junior Hockey League Spring Showcase held this past weekend at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough.
The Warriors competed well and showcased their skills in front of scores of collegiate coaches and professional scouts.
“It was a great weekend and I was pleased with how we competed,” said Andy Heinze, the general manager/head coach of the VJW Junior A squad. “The Spring Showcase is always a place where we can take a look at our players and get a sense for what to expect next season.”
After winning two games and losing just one, Heinze must be pleased. The Warriors are coming off another strong season where they advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2012 EJHL Gary Dineen Cup Playoffs. In addition, the program took home three end-of-the-year EJHL awards – the most by any league program. Heinze was named Coach of the Year - for the third time in his career - while Fabian Sivnert and Conor Riley were named Goaltender and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively.
