Seth Goodrich

Seth Goodrich, who spent 5 seasons as the director and skills instructor for the North Shore Vipers was named the Director of the Jr. Warrior Girls program in 2019. Seth hails from Salisbury, Vermont, and played high school hockey for both Salisbury for two seasons and then Trinity-Pawling his junior and senior year. After a postgraduate season with the Green Mountain Glades in the EJHL, Seth attended St. Anselm College where he played four years of varsity hockey and was named captain both his junior and senior years. After graduation, he worked at the Breakaway Ice Center as coach and skills director for the North Shore Vipers programs. In 2011 Seth accepted the role of Boys Varsity Head Coach and Math teacher at the Hoosac School. Seth later returned to Breakaway Ice Center as program director of the North Shore Vipers.

During his tenure as program director the Vipers emerged as a perennial Tier I contender at the state and national level. Seth directed and coached teams to a Mass State Championship and most recently, a USA Hockey National Championship. Seth is also the co-founder of North American Elite and has trained and developed over 40 NCAA Division I and III players and commits, including 6 Hockey East and ECAC commits this season.

U11 - Major

Mike Stevens

Mike is in his second season as head coach of the Warriors U11 major team. Mike played his prep school hockey at the Kent School and was a four year letter winner and senior captain at Bowdoin College, where he also received the Harry G. Shulman trophy as the player who best exemplified the spirit of Bowdoin hockey. Mike has coached a number of teams in Andover, from learn to skate through U10, and is a USA Hockey Level III certified coach. Originally from Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada, Mike resides in Andover with his wife and four children.

U11 - Minor

Brian Costa

Brian Costa is entering his first season as Head Coach of the U11 minor girls. Brian was born and raised in Woburn where he played youth hockey. Brian was named captain of his Woburn Midget team where he helped them go on to win the state championship in 1995 and 1996. Costa also played for the Boston Junior Braves and the Eastern Mass Senators. Brian began his high school hockey career at Boston College High School for two years and then playing his junior and senior year at the Pingree School. He attended Assumption College where he graduated in 1999.

Brian has coached in the Methuen Youth Hockey program. He has been employed with Massachusetts Trial Court for 22 years. Brian currently resides in Methuen with his wife and two children.

U12- Tier I

Matt Courchesne

Matt joins the Valley Junior Warriors in his first season as head coach of the U12 Tier I girls team. Matt grew up in Bow (NH) and started playing hockey at the age of 4. He played for Bow High School and the Exeter Seawolves (IJHL), before playing DII college hockey at Southern New Hampshire University. After graduating, Matt took his love for the game to coaching, where he has spent his last several years coaching girls youth hockey teams. Matt is also a USA Hockey Level IV certified coach.

He resides in Exeter, NH. with his wife and two daughters.

Cliff Mask

Cliff brings years of coaching experience in youth hockey to the Valley Jr Warriors Program. He has coached for several programs such as Plymouth Jr. Panthers, Seacoast Spartans, and the NH Avalanche. His coaching contributions have resulted in provincial, state, league, and tournament championships.

Growing up in Chicago, Illinois and London, Ontario, he discovered an early interest in coaching within the O.M.H.A. system while playing Junior Hockey. Coach Mask opted out of the OHL to play OHA Junior B in pursuit of college hockey while achieving several playoff runs as well as a National Championship. He landed In Plymouth, New Hampshire playing for the Plymouth State as a goaltender and has called it home ever since with his wife Kelly, their daughter Riley, and Bauer their Labrador Retriever. Coach Mask enjoys being a part of an athlete's journey as they continually strive to develop their skills as a hockey player and teammate as well as an individual.

U13

Todd Sloper

Todd is returning for his third season with Valley Jr. Warriors program as the head coach for the U13 team. Todd was a highly acclaimed local high School player for Arlington Catholic, where he was named captain his Senior season.  Todd continued his playing career at Assumption College, where he was named captain and finished his career as a top ten all time points leader. During his senior season Sloper received the Alfred Berthiaume Award.

Todd has coached at all levels of hockey from mites through high school including several years for Everett HS and Arlington Catholic.  Sloper is a level 3 USA Hockey coach and looks forward to bringing a wealth of playing and coaching experience to the U10 Warriors.

 

U14

Jason Carlson

A resident of North Andover, Jason returns to the Warriors for the 4th straight season with the girls program. Jason grew up playing for Beverly High School and went on to play for Saint Michael’s College where he received the Ice Knight Award in 1996. Throughout college and for several years after graduating, Carlson worked as a coach for Dynamic Skating.
