 The Valley Jr Warriors U-16 team has picked up where it left off last season. Just months after competing at the 2009 USA Hockey Tier 1 National Tournament, the squad posted yet another big victory.
Competing against a field of the top midget teams in the region, the Warriors captured the top spot at the Massachusetts Tier 1 Labor Day Face-Off Invitational Tournament held at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough. This marks the second straight year that the Valley Jr Warriors have claimed the title. Leading up to the playoff round, the team posted a 4-0-1 record with victories against the West Seneca Wings (NY), Connecticut Chiefs, NS Wings and New Jersey Devils.
The Warriors continued its stellar play come playoff time.. first with a 6-0 blanking of the New Jersey Colonials and then a 4-1 victory against the Rhode Island Saints in the championship game.
