VJW Junior A Team Sweeps; Extends Winning Streak to 4 Games
Andy Heinze's VJW Junior A team is in the midst of another impressive winning streak.
For the fifth time
this season, the Warriors have strung together a winning streak of four
games or more. The team notched its third and fourth straight victories
this past weekend when it defeated the Bay State Breakers and Junior
The Warriors currently stand in third place in the EJHL's
Northern Division, now just three points out of second place and seven points off of the overall divisional lead with six regular-season games remaining
in the season. Playing at The Bog Ice Arena in Kingston on
Saturday, the Warriors jumped out to an early 2-0 against the Bay State Breakers after the first period
thanks to tallies by Jack Schechter(Naples, FL) and John Needham(Medford, MA). The Breakers would pull within one goal in the second period, but the Warriors responded with goals by Brendan Collier(Charlestown, MA),Joe Lappin(Geneva, IL) and John Rogeri(Katy, TX). Devin Tringale (Medford, MA) finished with three assists and Brendan Leahy(Reading, MA) collected with 34 saves between the pipes.

Bruins, the Warriors scored four unanswered goals and never looked back en route to the convincing 6-1 victory.
The balanced offensive attack featured individual tallies by BlakeBarnes, John Jackson(Bixby, OK), Lappin, Albee Daley(Averill PK, NY), Chris Tracy and Perry Holcombe(Cummings, GA). Daley and Gus Harmes(Pelham, NY) also added two assists in the winning effort.

Warriors will now hit the road for away battles against the Boston Bandits
(February 6) and the Islanders Hockey Club (February 8). Spectators are encouraged to come out and support the Warriors as they vie for the 2013 EJHL Championship!
