In just a few short days, four Valley Jr Warriors teams will take on the nation’s top AAA youth teams at the 2009 Bauer International Invitational. Beginning on November 5, the ’95 Elite, ’97 Elite, ’98 Elite and ’99 Elite teams will take part in the four-day event in Chicago.
Each team will compete in round-robin games on Friday and Saturday with hopes of advancing to Sunday's playoffs. The Bauer International Invitational is truly one of the premier youth hockey tournaments as it will draw 436 teams from across the world.
“There is no question that this tournament is one of the premier youth
hockey events in the world,” said Fred Devereaux, VJW director of
player development. “Our teams will face tough challenges that will
only make them stronger and more prepared for the second half of the
league season.”
Here is a schedule of events for the four Valley Jr. Warriors teams.
’95 VJW Elites

** Following a 2008-09 season in which the
squad captured the New England Hockey League Bantam West division
title, the '95 VJW Elites have been stellar in Massachusetts State
Hockey Select League play as the team holds an 11-0-1 record. Following an opening test against the Toronto Titans, the Warriors
will face off against the third-ranked team in the nation - the Detroit
Belle Tire.

** The '97 VJW Elites are off to a 9-0-0
start in Massachusetts State Hockey Select League play, but the players
will face their biggest challenge next weekend as their schedule is
nothing short of daunting. All four of its round-robin opponents are
ranked in the Top 20, including No. 2 St. Louis Amateur Blues which
will be the Warriors opponent on Saturday afternoon.

England Hockey League record to Chicago and will face off against teams
from across the nation. In addition to its league play, John Cusack's
squad challenged itself early on in the season by winning two games
against Team Comcast in September.
